本标准规定了海水冷却水电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法（ICP-AES）、火焰原子吸收分光光度法和邻菲�啉分光光度法三种铁的测定方法。
本标准适用于海水冷却水中总铁和可溶性铁含量的测定。其中电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法（ICP-AES）为仲裁方法，检测下限为0.02 mg/L；火焰原子吸收分光光度法的检测下限为0.20 mg/L；邻菲�啉分光光度法的检测下限为2 μg。
