本标准规定了电动工具（以下简称工具）产品说明书的编写要求和基本内容。
本标准适用于手持式和可移式电动工具产品使用说明书的编写。
出口电动工具的产品说明书除语言文字和类似要求应按外贸部门的有关规定外，其余内容应按本标准的规定。
不同品种的产品不能通过同一说明书；同一品种、不同型号的系列在不影响使用的情况下，可以通用同一说明书。
