1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to adapting China's population aging trend, as well as making the building design meeting the basic requirements of the aged people’s physical and mental characteristics in aspects of safety, health and applicability.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of new, extended and renovated residential building and public building for the aged people in cities and towns.
1.0.3 Residential building and public building for the aged people shall provide convenient facilities and services for the aged people; have barrier-free facilities convenient for the disabled which may also be used by the aged people.
1.0.4 Not only the requirements stipulated in this code, but also those in the current relevant compulsory standards of the nation shall be complied with during the design of the buildings for the aged.

1 General Provisions
