This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces JG/T 127-2007 Building Hardware for Windows and Doors - Friction Hinges and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to JG/T 127-2007:
——The application scope is modified;
——Terms and definitions are added (see Chapter 3);
——The grading requirements for operating force of friction hinge for outward top-hung window are added (see 5.3.2.2);
——The requirements (see 5.3.3) and test methods (see 6.3.3) for operating force of friction hinge for outward side-hung window are added;
——The test methods of designed friction are modified (see 6.3.1);
——The requirements (see 5.3.6) and test methods (see 6.3.6) for the repeated opening and closing performance are modified;
——The requirements [see 5.3.7b)] and test methods [see 6.3.7b)] for the damage resistance at closed position are added.
This standard was proposed by the Research Institute of Standards and Norms (RISN) of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Technical Committee on Standardization of Building Products and Accessories of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.
The previous editions of this standard are as follows:

Building Hardware for Windows and Doors - Friction Hinges
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and labelling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of friction hinges for building windows and doors.
This standard is applicable to the outward top-hung window of buildings with opening distance of window leaf not greater than 300mm and the friction hinge for outward side-hung window with width of window leaf not greater than 570mm.
2 Normative References
The following documents for the application of this document are essential. Any dated reference, just dated edition applies to this document. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document (including any amendments) applies to this document.
GB/T 2828.1 Sampling Procedures for Inspection by Attributes – Part 1: Sampling Schemes Indexed by Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) for Lot-by-lot Inspection
GB/T 5823 Terminology for Building Windows and Doors
GB/T 14436 General Principles of Industrial Product Guarantee Documents
GB/T 29048 Operating Forces - Test Method - Windows
GB/T 32223 Building Hardware for Windows and Doors - General Requirements
3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions given in GB/T 5823 and the following apply.
3.1
friction hinge
multi-bar device for connecting window frame and window leaf, supporting window leaf, realizing the rotation towards outdoor and being opened by translation
[GB/T 32223-2015, Definition 3.11]
3.2
designed friction
maximum static friction force to prevent outward side-hung window leaf from leaving its opening position
3.3
operating force
maximum values of locking force and releasing force of locking device and the opening force and closing force of operable leaf for windows and doors
[GB/T 9158-2015, Definition 3.2]
3.4
running force
maximum force required to open the outward side-hung window leaf in the opening process from a position 100mm away from closing position to the maximum opening position, or to close it in the closing process from the maximum opening position to a position 100mm away from closing position.
4 Classification and Labelling
4.1 Classification and code
4.1.1 Name code
Name code is classified into two categories by opening form of applicable window type:
a) Code of friction hinge for outward side-hung window: PCH;
b) Code of friction hinge for outward top-hung window: SCH.
4.1.2 Principal parameter code
Principal parameters are classified into bearing mass and chute length;
a) Bearing mass: represented by the maximum permissible bearing mass (integer, kg) in case of a set of (2 sets) friction hinges for single window;
b) Chute length: represented by actual chute length (integer, mm).
4.2 Labelling
4.2.1 Labelling method
4.2.2 Labelling example
Example: as for a friction hinge for outward side-hung window with bearing mass of 28kg and chute length of 305mm, it shall be labelled as: PCH 28-305 JG/T 127-2017.
5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
Common materials shall meet the requirements of GB/T 32223.
5.2 Appearance
Appearance shall meet the requirements of GB/T 32223.
5.3 Mechanical performance
5.3.1 Designed friction
Designed friction shall be adjustable to a value not less than 40N at all measuring points.
5.3.2 Operating force
5.3.2.1 The operating force of friction hinge for outward side-hung window shall not be greater than 40N.
5.3.2.2 The operating force of friction hinge for outward top-hung window shall meet those specified in Table 1.
