1 General
1.0.1 This specification has been developed to meet the needs of highway steel bridge construction, to unify technical guidelines and to ensure project quality and construction safety.
1.0.2 This specification applies to the manufacture and installation construction of highway steel bridges.
2 Terminology
2.0.1 Component assembly
A structural unit consisting of a number of parts, plate units or rods assembled to form an independently installable unit.
2.0.2 member
The basic units that make up steel and steel plate beams. According to the function, it is divided into major and minor rods, the upper chord, lower chord, inclined rod, vertical rod, cross beam, longitudinal beam, cross link, main beam, etc. are major rods, the rest are minor rods.
2.0.3 Steel panel
A basic unit consisting of a plate and longitudinal and transverse ribs. Including the top plate unit of the steel box beam, web unit, bottom plate unit, partition unit, and the wall plate unit of the steel tower, partition unit, etc.
3 Basic provisions
3.0.1 Before the manufacture of steel bridges, the fabricator shall carry out a process audit of the design documents, and shall draw processing drawings and prepare manufacturing process documents in accordance with the design provisions. When adjustments and changes to the design drawings are required, the consent of the original design unit shall be obtained and the relevant design change procedures shall be carried out.
3.0.2 The fabrication of steel bridges shall be carried out in accordance with the fabrication drawings, technical standards and fabrication processes.
Article Description
The fabrication drawings, technical standards and fabrication processes are the main basis for the fabrication of steel bridges and need to be strictly enforced in the fabrication process.
3.0.3 A sound quality inspection system shall be established for the manufacture of steel bridges. During the manufacturing process, each process shall be quality controlled according to the technical standards, and each process shall be inspected after completion and records shall be formed: handover inspection shall be carried out between processes, and the next process shall not be carried out without inspection or unqualified inspection.
3.0.4 The inspection of the manufacture and installation of steel bridges shall be carried out using certified measuring instruments and shall be operated in accordance with the relevant regulations.
3.0.5 Personnel engaged in welding and welding non-destructive testing of steel bridges shall have a qualification certificate issued by a national statutory body and shall only be engaged in work within the scope of the qualification certificate.
4 Materials
4.1 General provisions
4.1.1 Materials used in the manufacture of highway steel bridges shall conform to the design documents and relevant standards. In addition to the quality certification documents, the incoming materials shall be sampled and tested by the manufacturer in accordance with the relevant standards and the provisions of Appendix A of this specification, and shall only be used after passing the test.
4.1.2 The storage, use and recycling of all kinds of materials shall be formulated with corresponding management systems, and their performance shall be guaranteed to be stable and reliable.
5 Material and processing
5.1 General provisions
5.1.1 Steel plates shall be pre-treated prior to being laid down in accordance with the following provisions:
1 Pre-treatment shall preferably include such processes as mixing and levelling, shot blasting and rust removal, dust removal and application of anti-rust primer.
2 For steel components processed in the workshop and used in the non-rainy season, when it is confirmed that no rusting will occur, the rust-proof primer may not be sprayed; if the design requires rust-proof primer for the workshop, the provisions shall be followed.
3 After the pretreatment is completed, the original grade, specification and furnace batch number of the steel plate should be promptly transplanted to the treated steel plate.
6 Assembly
6.1 General provisions
6.1.1 Before assembly, the construction drawings and process documents should be familiarized with, and the part numbers, external dimensions, bevel directions and dimensions should be checked according to the drawings, and the assembly should only be carried out after confirming that there are no errors.
6.1.2 The steel plate jointing shall be completed before the assembly of the components and shall comply with the following provisions:
1 steel analysis beam, steel plate beam flange plate, web of the joint length should not be less than 1000mm, width shall not be less than 200mm, transverse weld axis from the hole centre line should not be less than 100mm. steel box beam top plate, bottom plate, web joint of the longitudinal weld and U-shaped rib, plate rib weld spacing shall not be less than 100mm.
2 steel plate beam web and steel box beam top, bottom, web joint welds can be cross-shaped or T-shaped, T-shaped intersection spacing shall not be less than 200mm; web joint longitudinal welds should be arranged in the pressure zone.
3 assembly should be staggered adjacent welds, the minimum distance staggered should be in accordance with the provisions of Figure 6.1.2-1.
7 Welding, welding inspection and correction
7.1 General provisions
7.1.1 Before welding, a welding process evaluation test shall be carried out. The welding process assessment shall be in accordance with the provisions of Appendix C of this specification.
8 Trial assembling, pre-assembly
8.1 General provisions
8.1.1 The bars of steel beams and steel plate beams shall be test assembled before they are manufactured in batches; the members of steel box girders, large section steel beams, steel towers, steel box arches and steel pipe arches shall be preassembled before installation and construction.
9 Finished product dimensional inspection and acceptance
9.1 General provisions
9.1.1 Steel structural members shall be inspected after manufacture and shall be accepted before leaving the factory.
10 Painting
10.1 General provisions
10.1.1 The painting of steel bridges shall be in accordance with the design documents and the current Technical Conditions for Anti-Corrosion Painting of Highway Bridges (JT/T 722).
10.1.2 A special construction programme shall be prepared before painting, and work instructions shall be prepared based on the special construction programme.
11 Packaging, storage and transportation
11.1 General provisions
11.1.1 This chapter applies to the packaging of components after manufacture or painting, the storage and transit of finished products at the manufacturing plant and installation site, and the transport of finished products from the factory to the installation site.
11.1.2 Special construction plans shall be prepared for the storage, transfer, loading, unloading and transport of components and shall comply with the relevant safety management regulations.
11.1.3 Effective measures shall be taken to ensure that the components are not deformed, damaged, dispersed or contaminated during packaging, storage, transit, tying, loading, unloading and transportation.
12 Installation
12.1 General provisions
12.1.1 This chapter applies to the installation construction of steel bridges at the bridge site.
12.1.2 Before installation construction, the installation method shall be reasonably selected according to the environmental conditions of the bridge site and the characteristics of the bridge structure and components, and a special construction programme shall be formulated; when the special construction programme is unexpected in the course of implementation, it shall be modified or improved, and shall be validated and approved according to the technical management regulations. Work instructions shall be prepared for each construction process.
13 Site connection
13.1 General provisions
13.1.1 This chapter applies to the construction of welded connections, friction-type high-strength bolted connections and friction-type high-strength ring-groove riveted connections of members at the bridge site.
13.1.2 The order in which the members are connected on site shall be in accordance with the design, and the site connection shall be made after the members are in position, fixed and inspected.
13.1.3 When members are connected by a mixture of welding and high-strength bolts, it is advisable to first screw the high-strength bolts and then weld them, and then carry out the final screwing of the high-strength bolts after the welds have been inspected and passed.
13.1.4 When members are connected by a mixture of welding and high-strength ring groove rivets, it is advisable to first connect the high-strength ring groove rivets and then carry out welding.
13.1.5 Site connection construction should be carried out on a construction operating platform, which should meet the requirements for safe operation. Relevant safety operating procedures should be observed when working at height.
14 Installation construction quality control
14.1 General provisions
14.1.1 This chapter applies to the quality control of the construction process of the installation of steel bridges.
14.1.2 When preparing the special construction programme for the installation of members, the quality of workmanship and acceptance standards shall be clearly defined, and measures to ensure construction quality and prevent quality deficiencies shall be formulated.
14.1.3 The installation construction shall use components, welding materials or connections of qualified quality, and shall correct or repair minor defects of the components.
