本细则适用于新建和改建路径在800m以下的公路斜拉桥的设计。
1.0.1 The Guidelines is formulated with a view to guiding the design of highway cable-stayed bridge and making the work comply with the requirements of advanced technology, safety and reliability, applicability, durability, economy and rationality.
1.0.2 The Guidelines are applicable to the design of newly-built and renovated highway cable-stayed bridges with span length below 800m.
1.0.3 "Technical Standard of Highway Engineering" (JTG B01-2003) issued by the Ministry of Communications serves as the main criterion of the Guidelines.
1.0.4 In addition to the Guidelines, other relevant specifications for highway bridges and culverts shall be met.
1.0.5 The structure shall be designed according to the limit state method while part of steel members may be designed according to permissible stress method.
1.0.6 For stay cable and other replaceable members, the feasibility and convenience of inspection and replacement must be considered on the premise that the safety operation of major structure is ensured.
1.0.7 New technology, material and process shall be actively and reliably popularized and applied.
1.0.8 Attention shall be paid to the esthetic structure appearance and landscape requirements.
1.0.9 Importance must be attached to the construction process control and operation process maintenance during the design and construction of highway cable-stayed bridge.
