Commercial vehicle anti-rolling stability test method — Steady circle test
1 Scope
This standard specifies the purpose and method, measurement parameters and coordinate system, test equipment, test conditions, test procedures, data processing, data analysis and other requirements of steady circle test for commercial vehicle anti-rolling stability.
This standard is applicable to M2, M3 and N vehicles specified in GB/T 15089, as well as combination vehicles composed of N2 and N3 vehicles and O2 and O3 trailers.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 12549, GB/T 25979 and the following apply.
3.1
vehicle unit
rigid (i.e. non-articulating) vehicle element operating alone or in combination with one or more other rigid elements which is articulated, e.g. towing vehicle, semi-trailer and dolly
[CB/T 25979-2010, definition 3.1]
4 Basic requirements
4.1 The anti-rolling stability of a vehicle under steady circle driving conditions is evaluated by the following two (or one) test methods:
——Constant-radius variable-speed test: the test vehicle runs along the route with constant turn radius at a stable speed, and the steady-state response parameters of the vehicle during steering is measured. In case of the constant turn radius route, different speeds are selected from low to high to carry out the test, and the test is repeated by changing the turn radius, so as to measure all the steady-state steering response characteristics of the test vehicle. The test route may be circular route or curve section with appropriate radius of curvature.
——Constant-speed variable steering-wheel angle test: the test vehicle runs at a stable speed and a constant steering-wheel angle, and the steady-state response parameters of the vehicle during steering is measured. In case of the constant speed, different steering-wheel angles are selected from small to large to carry out the test, and the test is repeated by changing the speed, so as to measure all the steady-state steering response characteristics of the test vehicle.
4.2 The constant-radius variable-speed test and the constant-speed variable steering-wheel angle test are applicable to both single vehicles and combination vehicles. However, the contents specified in Clauses 9 and 10 are only applicable to the first vehicle unit in single vehicles and combination vehicles.
