Technical specification of automobile clutch
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of, as well as technical requirements for automobile clutches (including cover assembly and clutch driven plate assembly, hereinafter referred to as “clutches”).
This standard is applicable to automobile clutches.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this standard. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
release travel
travel of the release finger (lever) when the clutch starts from full engagement to full disengagement under specified conditions
3.2
release load
load applied to the release finger (lever) end of the cover assembly in the process of disengagement
3.3
pressure plate lift
minimum among displacements of all points on the working plane of the pressure plate under a specified release travel
3.4
pressure plate parallelism
difference between the maximum and minimum among displacements of all points on the working plane of the pressure plate under a specified release travel
3.5
drag torque
minimum torque that allows the clutch driven plate assembly to rotate freely under specified conditions, with the clutch driven plate assembly between two parallel plates at a specified distance
3.6
free movement
difference between the minimum distance of the two parallel plates and the distance of the two parallel plates at the specified load clamping state, where the clutch driven plate assembly is located between two parallel plates, and a specified torque is applied to the clutch driven plate assembly under specified conditions, which allows the clutch driven plate assembly to rotate freely
3.7
adhesive behavior
anti-adhesion ability of clutch after specified time under the specified temperature and humidity
3.8
cushion resilience
variance of the thickness of the clutch driven plate assembly under a condition where an axial load is applied to the clutch driven plate assembly on the premise of a certain preload
3.9
cushion deflection characteristic
relationship between the variance of the thickness of the clutch driven plate assembly and the axial load under a condition where an axial load is applied to the clutch driven plate assembly on the premise of a certain preload
