QJ 1368-1988 External-pressure test method for the chamber case of solid rocket motor
1 Subject content and application scope
This standard specifies external-pressure test method for the chamber case of solid rocket motor under normal atmospheric conditions.
This standard is applicable to the external-pressure test of steel shell and composite shell of solid rocket motor under normal atmospheric conditions.
2 Terms
2.1
turnover operation
turning the test piece from horizontal position to vertical position, or vise verse. Such operation needs two hooks or special roll-over stands.
2.2
loading zero line
If the loading starts from the true zero point, the loading time in the initial stage is relatively long. Depending on different test pieces, the loading starting point can be appropriately increased, that is, the transverse coordinate of the loading curve can be correspondingly increased. The resulting curve is called the loading zero line.
3 Methods and principles
3.1 Acquisition of external-pressure load
All the openings of the combustion chamber housing of the motor are sealed with a plug cover, and the motor is placed in the hydraulic cylinder which is filled with internal pressure. In this case, the motor’s combustion chamber housing in the hydraulic cylinder obtains external-pressure load.
