Vibration test method for spacecraft
1 Scope
This standard specifies the purpose, technical requirements, methods and procedures of sinusoidal and random vibration tests for system-level spacecraft products.
This standard is applicable to the vibration tests of various system-level spacecraft products (hereinafter referred to as test articles).
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications (exclude errata) do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.
GJB 1027A-2005 Test requirements for launch, upper-stage, and space vehicles
3 Test purpose
3.1 Appraisal or quasi-appraisal vibration test for spacecraft
Appraisal or quasi-appraisal vibration test for spacecraft intends to:
a) test the spacecraft's ability to withstand appraisal or quasi-appraisal vibration environment;
b) acquire vibration response data of spacecraft for some relevant parts;
c) assess in the system-level vibration test the components that fail the proper assessment in the component-level vibration test.
3.2 Acceptance vibration test for spacecraft
Acceptance vibration test for spacecraft intends to:
a) test the spacecraft's ability to withstand acceptance vibration environment;
b) expose the defects of spacecraft in materials and processes, so as to improve its flight reliability.
3.3 Structural model vibration test for spacecraft
Structural model vibration test for spacecraft intends to:
a) verify the structural design and manufacturing process;
b) measure the vibration response data of relevant parts of spacecraft as the basis for developing or modifying the vibration test conditions of components;
c) achieve other purposes specified in the test program.
4 Test conditions and allowable deviations
4.1 Test conditions
Test conditions shall be as specified in GJB 1027A—2005 and relevant technical documents for the test.
4.2 Allowable test deviations
In general, the following allowable test deviations shall apply:
a) sinusoidal vibration:
Frequency: ±2%;
Acceleration amplitude: ±10%.
