Design code for wastewater treatment in petrochemical industry
1 General provisions
1.0.1 This code is specially formulated to implement relevant national guidelines, policies and decrees and achieve the purpose of preventing and controlling pollution, improving and protecting the environment.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of constructed, extended and renovated wastewater treatment engineering in petrochemical industry.
1.0.3 The design of wastewater treatment engineering in petrochemical industry must be based on the approved feasibility study report and environmental impact report, and shall be combined with comprehensive planning, particular treatment and centralized treatment to ensure advanced technology, reasonable economy, reliable operation and environmental protection.
1.0.4 The design of wastewater treatment engineering in petrochemical industry shall meet those specified in both this code and the current relevant mandatory standards.
2 Terms
2.0.1 wastewater pretreatment
treatment with regard to certain specific pollutants before discharging the wastewater into centralized wastewater treatment plant for meeting the inflow water quality of centralized wastewater treatment plant
2.0.2 wastewater particular treatment
local treatment of wastewater separately without discharging the wastewater into centralized wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater after particular treatment may be reused, recycled or directly discharged
2.0.3 non-polluted wastewater
wastewater that is not polluted or slightly polluted and the water temperature rises slightly and meets the discharge standard without treatment
2.0.4 polluted rainwater
initial rainwater on the ground of contaminated areas that may be contaminated by materials
3 Water quality, quantity and system division
3.1 Water quality
3.1.1 The quality of the wastewater discharged from installations (units) as well as that flowing into the wastewater treatment plant shall meet the relevant requirements of SH 3099 Water quality standard of water supply and drainage in petrochemical industry and those in environmental impact report.
3.1.2 The total inflow water quality of wastewater treatment plant shall be determined by calculation according to the drainage water quality and quantity of each installation (unit). In case of lack of data, it may be determined by referring to the actual operation data of similar factories.
3.1.3 The quality of discharged water after wastewater treatment shall conform to relevant national and local standards.
3.2 Water quantity
3.2.1 The maximum allowable discharge quantity of petrochemical industry shall meet the requirements of the current national standard GB 8978 Integrated wastewater discharge standard.
3.2.2 The design wastewater quantity shall be calculated according to the wastewater quantity of each installation (unit) based on different systems.
3.2.3 The design wastewater quantity shall include production wastewater quantity, domestic wastewater quantity, polluted rainwater quantity and unforeseen wastewater quantity. Various wastewater quantities shall be determined according to the following requirements:
