This standard adopts the international electrotechnical commission standard--IEC 74-1963(1974) "Method for Assessing the Oxidation Stability of Insulating Oils" by reference.
1 Subject content and application scope
This standard specifies the measurement methods for the oxidation stability of transformer oils.
This standard is applicable to transformer oils.
2 Normative references
GB 466 Classification of copper
3 Principle
A 25g liquid sample to be tested, through which a stream of oxygen is bubbled, is subject to an oil bath for 164h at a given temperature, in the presence of copper catalyst. Subsequently, measure the quality and acidity of the sludge formed after 164h sequential oxidation. The oxidation stability is represented by the amount of total sludge and total acidity.
