1 Subject Content and Application Scope
This standard specifies test for determination of hydraulic oil filterability.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of hydraulic oils such as petroleum base and synthetic type.
2 Summary of Method
Test 200mL of specimen in specified filtration equipment at 18~24℃ and 86658Pa (650mmHg) of vacuum degree. The time (s) required for filtering out 75mL of specimen is the filterability of the dry-out specimen. Take another 200mL of specimen containing 2% of water and test it under the identical condition, the test result is the filterability of the aqueous specimen.
3 Significance
For hydraulic oils in all kinds of industry hydraulic system and vehicle hydraulic system, filter blocking caused by poor filterability of oil product is a serious problem. Especially when a small amount of water sneak into the hydraulic system, the blocking of the hydraulic system filter would be much more serious which thereby would cause hydrostatical transmission failure, wear and damage of hydraulic pump and other units. This standard is valuable in aspect of filterability evaluation of hydraulic oil.
