1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of dioxane residues in cosmetics by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method.
This standard is applicable to the determination of dioxane residues in cosmetics.
The lower determination limit of dioxane in this standard is 2.5mg/kg.

3 Principle
Extract the sample in a headspace bottle after heating, then determine it by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method (GC/MSD), quantify by external standard method and confirm by selected ion monitoring.
4 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise specified, analytically pure reagents and Grade II water are adopted.
4.1 Dioxane: with a purity of 98%.
4.2 Dioxane standard stock solution: accurately weigh a proper amount of dioxane standard sample (accurate to 0.0001g), and prepare with water into standard stock solution with a concentration of 1,000μg/mL, then store the stock solution in a refrigerator at 4℃, valid for two months.
