1 Scope This Standard specifies definitions, classfication, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for surge protective device (SPD) for railway signal system. This Standard is applicable to production, maintenance, inspection and assessment of surge protective device (SPD) to protect railway signal system from lightning electromagnetic pulse induction damages. It may apply other electronic equipment (communication equipment and computer information system facility) in railroad system by reference. 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard.
