Damage codes of wheel and tyre for locomotive and vehicle
1 Scope
This standard specifies the coding rules for and the structure of damage codes of wheels and tyres for railway locomotives and vehicles in service, and provides examples of codes and main wheel and tyre damage names, codes, damage descriptions, causes and morphology examples.
This standard is applicable to the damage analysis, judgment and information processing of wheels and tyres for railway locomotives and vehicles in service (hereinafter referred to as "wheels and tyres").
2 Coding rules
2.1 The damage of wheels and tyres is coded based on the face classification system and expressed by characteristic combination codes.
2.2 If several kinds of damages exist at the same time, the coding shall be based on the major damage.
3 Code structure
3.1 See Figures 1 and 2 for the names of various parts of wheels and tyres.
