本标准的技术要求适用于额定电压不超过交流440V，额定工作电流小于或等于63A，额定限制短路电流小于或等于6kA的电路，主要用于短路及过载保护、电涌保护、电弧故障电流保护以及电击危险保护的家用及类似用途综合保护开关。本标准技术要求适用于7.1规定的环境条件。在更严酷环境条件下使用的IPS可能需要补充的技术要求。
