本标准规定了通用型球形补偿器（以下简称球形补偿器）的结构型式、规格尺寸、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存等要求。适用于介质工作温度不大于300℃，公称压力不大于1.6Mpa，介质为液体、蒸汽、气体的热力管道上用于补偿热力管道热胀冷缩的球形补偿器。
本标准不适用于有毒、易燃、易爆及有腐蚀性的介质。
