4 Test Environment
The test system configuration specified in this chapter applies to all test cases herein.
The test environment and test case involved in this part apply to 3G terminals (including TD-SCDMA terminal, WCDMA terminal, TD-SCDMA/WCDMA dual-mode terminal, TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode terminal and WCDMA/GSM dual-mode terminal).
4.1 Test System Configuration
Test system is composed of UICC simulator that supports USIM application and network simulator (UMTS network and GSM network).
UICC card present in this part refers to universal integrated circuit card with USIM application; USIM card refers to universal integrated circuit card with USIM application and based on UICC platform.
Unless otherwise specified, the terminal (or UE) in this part refers to 3G terminal, or TD-SCDMA terminal, WCDMA terminal, or dual-mode terminals such as TD-SCDMA/WCDMA, TD-SCDMA/GSM and WCDMA/GSM.
Network device refers to the network device or network simulator that provides the required 3G network system environment or 2G network system environment. Generally, the use of UTRAN in test item indicates 3G network system environment and the use of BSS indicates 2G network system environment. UTRAN can indicate both WCDMA network system and TD-SCDMA network system. Here, BSS refers specifically to GSM network system.
It shall be noted that as a need for rapid test, USIM card simulator can be used for test.
Figure 1 and Figure 2 can be used as references for establishing test system.
