Optical fiber cables for core network — Loose tube stranding type of outdoor optical fiber cables for telecommunication 1 Scope This Standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for loose tube stranding type of outdoor optical fiber cables for telecommunication (hereinafter referred to as optical fiber cables). This standard applies to outdoor optical fiber cables for core networks, as well as outdoor optical fiber cables for metropolitan area networks (MAN) and access networks (AN). 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard. The type of optical fiber cables used in deep-water shall be stipulated separately. 3.1.2 Applicable laying modes and special conditions for different types See Table 1 for the applicable laying modes and special conditions for main types and derived types of optical fiber cables for special purposes such as flame retardant and termite prevention.
