1 Scope
This standard specifies metallographic determination principle, apparatus, specimen and specimen preparation, test procedure and requirements as well as the test report of oxygen content in oxygen-free copper.
This standard is applicable to the inspection of grade of oxygen content in oxygen-free copper.
2 Method Principle
Heat the prepared specimen in hydrogen-containing atmosphere and cool it under the condition free of air exposure, according to the feature that the cuprous oxide reacts with reductive hydrogen and thus generating cracks or cracking, observe with metalloscope and judge its oxygen content grade based on the crack or cracking condition.
