1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of haemostatic forceps.
This standard is applicable to haemostatic forceps for clamping blood vessels and tissues in the human body for haemostasis.

3 Classification and designation
3.1 The types and basic dimensions of forceps shall meet those specified in Figure 1, Figure 2, and Table 1.
3.2 The gill shaft for forceps shall meet the requirements of YY/T 0173.3-1994; the teeth shall meet those of YY/T 0173.4-1994; the serration shall meet those of YY/T 0173.5-1994; the ratchet shall meet those of YY/T 0173.6-1994; and the ellipsoid ring shall meet those of YY/T 0173.8-1994.
