1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This Specification is formulated with a view to implementing the national technical and economic policies in the structural design of buried steel pipeline of water supply and sewerage engineering to be of advanced technology, safety and usability, economy and rationality and high quality.
1.0.2 This Specification is applicable to the structural design of buried welded steel pipeline of water supply and sewerage engineering in the public facilities and industrial enterprises in the cities and towns, whose burying conditions are flat subgrade or artificial shaped subgrade.
This Specification is not applicable to the structural design of buried steel pipeline with special requirements in the industrial enterprises.
1.0.3 This Specification is formulated in accordance with principles specified in the current national standard "Structural design code for pipelines of water supply and waste water engineering" GB 50332.
1.0.4 As for the buried steel pipeline structure of water supply and sewerage engineering constructed in such special areas as seismic area, collapsible loess or expansive soil area, its design shall also comply with those in the current relevant standards of the nation.
1.0.5 Steel pipeline construction shall also comply with the requirements of the current national standard "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Water and Sewerage Pipeline Works" GB 50268.
