1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage and shelf life of pine oil products.
This standard is applicable to pine oil prepared from the byproduct of terpineol produced from turpentine oil through a two-step process (hydration reaction and dehydration reaction).

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
pine oil
mixture of terpenenols, terpene olefins, and terpene ethers prepared from the by-products of terpineol produced using turpentine as raw material by a two-step process (hydration reaction and dehydration reaction), of which the main component is terpineol
4 Product classification
Being determined by phosphoric acid dehydration method, according to the total alcohol content, it is classified into three product categories: 50% pine oil, 65% pine oil and 85% pine oil. In addition, the technical indexes of products with special specifications required by customers may be agreed upon by both parties in contract.
