1 Scope
This standard specifies the conditions and detailed analytical procedures for testing the mulberry silk content by the method of chemical analysis.
This standard is applicable to the quantitative analysis of mulberry silk content in blending, mixing and interwoven products containing mulberry silk and tussah silk, and in loose fiber raw materials.
This standard may not be applicable to products dyed with certain dyes. The sampling method in 5.1 of this standard is not applicable to products with filament mixed fillers.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.
GB/T 2910.1-2009 Textiles — Quantitative chemical analysis — Part 1: General principles of testing
GB/T 8170 Rules of rounding off for numerical values & expression and judgment of limiting values
GB 9994 Conventional moisture regains of textile materials
3 Principle
After the fiber components in the specimen were identified, dissolve and remove the mulberry silk and remaining tussah silk by calcium chloride/ethanol test solution (or calcium nitrate test solution), weigh the residue, and calculate the mass content of mulberry silk according to the mass loss.
