This standard specifies the requirements for protection against electric shock of electrical installations with nominal voltage power frequency AC l000 or below and DC l500V or below and the application requirements of protective measures.
This standard is applicable to electrical installations in dwellings, industrial, agricultural and commercial buildings, public buildings, activity buildings, tourist cars and similar areas and to temporary installations in construction sites and exhibition halls.
This standard is not applicable to electric traction equipment, electrical equipment for vehicle, ship and aircraft, public road lighting installation, mining installation, anti-jamming equipment (unless this equipment influences on the safety of the installation), and building lightning protection.
