1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and label, raw materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportationof styrene butadiene styrene modified bituminous sheet materials (abbreviated as “SBS waterproof sheet”).
This standard is applicable to sheetmaterialwith padding of polyester felt, glass fibre felt or glass fibre reinforced polyester felt, bitumen modifier of styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) thermoplastic elastomer and coating ofinsulation materialson both sides.

3 Classification and Label
3.1 Types
3.1.1Itis classified into polyester felt (PY), glass fibre felt (G) and glass fibre reinforced polyester felt (PYG) according to padding.
3.1.2It is classified into polyethylene film (PE), fine sand (S) and mineral granule (M) according to upper surface insulation material; the lower surface insulation materialis fine sand (S) orpolyethylene film (PE).
Note: fine sand refers to mineral granules with diameternot greater than 0.60mm.
3.1.3It is classified into Type I and Type II according tomaterial property.
3.2 Specification
The nominal width of sheet material is 1000mm.
The nominal thickness of PY felt sheet material is 3mm, 4mm, 5mm.
The nominal thickness of G felt sheet material is 3mm, 4mm.
The nominal thickness of PYG feltsheet material is 5mm.
The nominal area per coilof each sheetmaterial is 7.5m2, 10m2, 15m2.
3.3Label
The product is labelledinthe following sequence: name, model, padding, upper surface material, lower surface material, thickness, area and number of this standard.
Example: type I SBS modified bituminous sheet materials, withmineral granules as the upper surface (area: 10m2; thickness: 3mm) and polyethylene film polyester felt as the lower surface, is labelledas:
SBS I PY M PE 3 10 GB 18242-2008
3.4 Application
3.4.1SBS modified bituminous sheet materials are mainly applicable to roofand underground waterproof engineering work for industrial and civil buildings.
3.4.2PYGfelt sheetmaterial may be used in machinery fixed single layer waterproof, but it needs to pass the test of resistance to wind load.
3.4.3TheGfelt sheetmaterial is applicable to the bottom layer in multi-layer waterproof work.
3.4.4Thesheetmaterial with the upper surface insulation material of opaque mineral granules is applicable to exposed application.
3.4.5Thesheetmaterial with the surface insulation material of fine sand isapplicable tounderground waterproof engineering work.
