Indoor decorating and refurbishing materials - Limit of harmful substances of wallpapers
1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions related to wallpapers, specifies the requirements and inspection rules for the limits of substances of wallpapers harmful to human health and the environment, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to wallpapers made from various base materials.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 4615 Poly(vinyl chloride) - Determination of residual vinyl chloride monomer content - Gas-chromatographic method
GB/T 6682 Water for analytical laboratory use - Specification and test methods
GB/T 37860 Paper, board and paper products - Determination of phthalates
GB/T 40263 Textiles - Determination of short chain chlorinated paraffins
3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
volume of test chamber
total volume of air exchange in a test chamber at no load
Note: The volume of test chamber is expressed in cubic meters (m3).
3.2
loading factor
ratio of the total surface area of the specimen to the volume of test chamber
Note: The loading factor is expressed in square meters per cubic meter (m2/m3).
3.3
air exchange rate
ratio of the volume of clean air entering the test chamber per unit time to the volume of test chamber
Note: The air exchange rate is usually expressed in terms of the number of air exchanges per hour, in times/h.
3.4
formaldehyde emission
concentration of formaldehyde (HCHO) gas emitted by a product to the outside, which is measured using a certain testing method under testing conditions specified in relevant standards based on a certain form (such as unit area or loading factor) and time requirements
[Source: GB/T 28202-2020, 10.56, modified]
3.5
total volatile organic compounds; TVOC
volatile organic compounds with retention time between n-hexane and n-hexadecane when sampled by 2,6-diphenyl-furan-based porous polymer (Tenax TA) or equivalent filling adsorption tube and analyzed with a non-polar or weak-polar capillary column (polarity index: <10)
