1 Subject Content and Application Scope
This standard describes the test principle and terms and definitions for hydrostatic pressure testing of metal tubes, and specifies the test equipment and instruments, test result assessment and test report.
This standard is applicable to hydrostatic pressure testing for steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metal tubes under normal temperature, and is used to inspect the quality and strength of metal tube and show its defect(s).
2 Test Principle
Keep the metal tube under the specified test pressure and pressure transmission medium for a certain period, and inspect the strength and leakage of base metal and weld of metal tube.
