1 Scope
This standard specifies light distribution performance, test methods and inspection rules of motor vehicle headlamps equipped with filament lamps and sealed beam headlamps.
This standard is applicable to various types of headlamps (gas-discharge source headlamps excluded) used in Categories M and N motor vehicles.

Luminosity (e.g. illumination or luminous intensity) distribution of visible light emitted by light fixtures
3.2
Passing beam
A kind of close-range illuminating beam that will not make the other road users ahead, if any, dazzled or discomfortable
