1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to implementing the technic-economic policy in the design of grain steel silo and achieving safety and applicability, advanced technology, economy and rationality of the grain steel silo.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the storage of grain granular material and the design of round, centrical receiving and discharging grain steel silos.
Note: grain granular material covers such cereal granular materials such as wheat, corn, rough rice, soybean and other grains with similar physical characteristics.
1.0.3 This code is applicable to round silo of welded steel, spiral crimping steel and bolt-assembled corrugated steel.
1.0.4 The designed service life of grain steel silos shall not be less than 25 years.
1.0.5 Safety class of grain steel silo structure shall be Class II; the seismic precautionary category shall be Category C and the fire resistance class may be Class II.
1.0.6 Structure of this code is designed according to the current national standard “Unified Standard for Design of Building Structures”. Design of grain steel silos shall meet not only the requirements of this code, but also those specified in relevant national current standards.
