1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with view to make the design of recirculating cooling water system in chemical plant complying with national guideline, policy, laws and regulations and unify the technical requirements of system design so as to achieve safety and reliability, advanced technology, economy and rationality, convenient management and maintenance and to meet the requirements of water conservation, energy conservation, environmental protection, labor safety and health protection.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to design the recirculating cooling water system engineering of constructed, extended and renovated chemical engineering project.
1.0.3 Based on the domestic and international advanced technology, production practice experience and scientific experiments, the effective new process, new technology, new equipment and new material shall be adopted actively and reliably for the design of recirculating cooling water system in chemical plant.
1.0.4 In addition to the requirements specified in this code, the design of recirculating cooling water system engineering in chemical plant shall also comply with those specified in relevant current national standards.

The recirculating water supply system (with water as cooling medium) which is composed by heat-exchange equipment, cooling facilities (equipment), treatment facilities, water pump, piping and other relevant facilities.
