1 Scope
This standard specifies position rule of front and side windows and other windows for driver's cabs of locomotives.
This standard is applicable to electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, motor train units and newly-manufactured locomotives used for international combined transport.
2 Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following definitions apply.
2.1 Front window
It refers to the window installed in the wall on the front end of driver's cab for driver or passengers to observe road and signal.
2.2 Side window
It refers to window installed at sidewall or side door of driver's cab.
2.3 Other windows
Refer to all the other windows except front window and side window, especially the window installed on the inner door of the car and devices like equipment cabinets and measuring instruments; windows with the area larger than 250cm2 belong to this type.
