Helmets for motorcyclists
1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic structure, type and specification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as label of helmet for motorcyclists (hereinafter referred to as helmet).
This standard is applicable to helmet worn by motorcyclists (including drivers and passengers).
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

outfit reducing the injury of head of motorcyclists in accidents
2.2
shell
outer structure of the helmet, which gives it its general shape
2.3
protective padding
padding used to absorb impact energy
2.4
comfort padding
padding provided for the wearer's comfort
2.5
retention system
component by means of which the helmet is firmly maintained in position on the head
2.6
goggles
protectors that enclose the eyes without affecting observation
2.7
luminous transmittance
ratio of luminous flux of visible light penetrating the goggles to incident light flux
2.8
testing headform
headform simulating the geometric profile and mechanical property of human head in helmet inspection
2.9
basic plane
plane passing left and right central porus acusticus externus and lower edge of eye sockets of testing headform, i.e. Plane O-O′ in side view of basic plane (O-O′) shown in Figure 1
