1 Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the method of determining the colour fastness to domestic and commercial laundering of various types of normal domestic textiles. Textiles for industry and hospital use possibly requires (in some way) specific washing procedure with more drastic washing condition.
1.2 Due to desorption and (or) rubbing effect in the test process, after an individual (S) test, the color fading and staining caused by test specimen is very close to a domestic and commercial laundering; Whereas after a composite (M) test, the color fading and staining are close to the effect of more than 5 times of not exceeding 70℃ domestic and commercial laundering.
1.3 This standard is not applicable to industry and medical textiles which have more strict requirements in some aspects of laundering operation.
1.4 The method of this standard does not reflect the effect of fluorescent brightening agents in commercial laundering procedure.
1.5 The test method of this standard is established according to given detergent and chlorine bleach method; using other detergent and chlorine bleach method possibly requires different test conditions.
