This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization (SAC/TC 114). The previous edition of this standard is as follows: ——GB/T 12673-1990. Motor vehicle main dimensions measurement method 1 Scope This standard specifies the measurement methods for motor vehicle main dimensions. The measurement methods for external dimensions and luggage compartment/cargo dimensions specified in this standard are applicable to Categories M and N vehicles. It may also serve as a reference for other vehicles. The measurement methods for internal dimensions specified in this standard are applicable to Category M1 vehicles. It may also serve as a reference for other vehicles. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB 1589 Limits of dimensions, axle load and masses for motor vehicles, trailers and combination vehicles GB/T 3730.2 Road vehicle - Masses - Vocabulary and codes GB/T 3730.3-1992 Motor vehicles and towed vehicles - Dimensions of vehicles - Terms and definitions GB/T 19514 Passenger cars - Luggage compartments - Method of measuring reference volume GB/T 29120-2012 Procedure for H-point and R-point determination 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 1589, GB/T 3730.2, GB/T 3730.3-1992, GB/T 29120-2012 as well as the following apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions specified in GB/T 29120-2012 are listed below. 3.1 vehicle coordinate system system composed of three vertical orthogonal planes that are interrelated, which is used to determine the positional relation of planes, axes and points, as shown in Figure 1 Figure 1 Vehicle coordinate system 3.1.1 zero Y-plane longitudinal symmetry plane of vehicle specified in 2.4, GB/T 3730.3-1992 3.1.2 zero X-plane plane perpendicular to the zero Y-plane specified by the manufacturer 3.1.3 zero Z-plane plane perpendicular to the zero Y-plane and zero X-plane specified by the manufacturer 3.1.4 Y-plane plane parallel to the zero Y-plane 3.1.5 X-plane plane parallel to the zero X-plane 3.1.6 Z-plane plane parallel to the zero Z-plane 3.1.7 X-axis direction direction parallel to the normal of X-plane 3.1.8 Y-axis direction direction parallel to the normal of Y-plane 3.1.9 Z-axis direction direction parallel to the normal of Z-plane 3.1.10 base point, base line, zero plane three or more actual points, lines or planes specified by the manufacturer 3.2 H-point and H-point measurement machine 3.2.1 H-point for HPM, H-point is the rotation center of torso and thigh, which is the simulated hinge center of human torso and thigh, and is used to determine the actual H-point of seating; for HPM-II, H-point is the hinge center point of seating panel assembly and back panel assembly and is located on the lateral centerline of HPM-II or HPD Notes: 1 For HPM, H-point is located on the central plane of HPM and at the midpoint of the line connecting the H-point marking buttons on both sides of the machine. 2 For HPM-II, H-point is also the intersection of the seating cushion line and the torso line. Where HPM-II is properly placed on the vehicle, the position of H-point relative to the vehicle serves as the base point of vehicle whatever in CAD or actual physical machine. If the seating is moved, the position of H-point of the vehicle will change accordingly. Therefore, the adjustable seating has more than one H-point position, while the fixed seating has only one H-point position. 3 Generally, H-point refers to the hip point or hip hinge point, but it does not accurately represent the position of the hip articulation point of a person. [GB/T 29120-2012, Definition3.3] 3.2.2 actual H-point for HPM, the seating is located at the seating base point designated by the manufacturer. Where the appropriate leg length is adopted for HPM, actual H-point refers to the H-point measured at the hinge center of torso line and thigh bar centerline. For HPM-II, the seating is located at the seating base point designated by the manufacturer. Where the appropriate posture is adopted for HPM-II, actual H-point refers to the H-point measured at the hinge center of seating panel assembly and back panel assembly [GB/T 29120-2012, Definition 3.3.2] 3.2.3 R-point design H-point position set by the manufacturer, which is also referred as SgRP, shall meet all the following requirements: a) basic base point for establishing passenger adjustment tools and dimensions; b) simulating the hinge center position of torso and thigh of a human body; c) provided with coordinates established with respect to the structure of the designed vehicle; d) establishing the H-point at the back of each designated seating position or at the normal driving and seating position designated by the manufacturer, which includes all adjustment states of the seating, including horizontal, vertical and inclined states, but does not include seating movement for abnormal driving and seating purposes 3.2.4 H-point travel path all possible positions of H-point of the seating at designated seating position under all adjustment states (including horizontal, vertical and inclined states) [GB/T 29120-2012, Definition 3.9] 3.2.5 three-dimensional H-point machine; HPM machine used for determining actual H-point and actual torso angle of vehicle [GB/T 29120-2012, Definition 3.1] 3.2.6 three-dimensional H-point machine-II; HPM-II new SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) H-point machine, which is used to determine the actual H-point, actual torso angle and other parameter values of vehicles more accurately. Compared with HPM, HPM-II has improved repeatability, which makes it more convenient to use, some additional components are added, the measurement capability is enhanced, and the impact of these improvements on the base point position and other measurement values is minimized, as shown in Figure 2
