本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１４１８８—１９９６《气相防锈包装材料选用通则》。本标准规定了气相防锈包装材料的选择和使用要求。本标准适用于金属材料及其制品进行气相防锈包装时，对气相防锈包装材料的选用。本标准修改采用美军标ＭＩＬ-１-８５７４Ｅ：１９９７《挥发性缓蚀剂的应用》。 本标准与ＧＢ／Ｔ１４１８８—１９９６相比，主要变化如下：
———增加了气相防锈材料主要类型；
———增加了选择依据；
———删除了“５　质量检验”；
———增加了适应性试验方法；
———修改了层间隔离气相防锈包装材料的使用内容；
