GB/T 14372-2024 Dangerous goods Test method of acceptance and classification for explosives
WARNING - Persons using this document shall be familiar with normal laboratory practice. In particular, it need be noted that the test process involves the use of explosives, which requires relevant qualifications and site conditions or shall be entrusted to an organization with relevant conditions to operate. This document does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices.
1 Scope
This document specifies the principles, instruments and materials, test conditions, test procedures and expression of results of test methods required for the approval and classification of explosives and desensitized explosives (explosives and desensitized explosives specified in GB 14371).
This document is applicable to the approval, classification and-test of explosives and desensitized explosives.

3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in ISO 14371 apply.
3.2 Abbreviations
For the purposes of this document, the following abbreviations apply.
ANE: Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion
MBP: Minimum Burning Pressure
SBAT: Simulation of Bulk Auto-ignition Temperature
4 First process test
4.1 1 (a) UN partition test
4.1.1 Principle and purpose
The strong shock wave generated by the explosion of the main explosive column acts on the sample encapsulated in the steel tube. Observe whether the sample is detonated or not to evaluate the ability of the sample to propagate detonation under similar conditions.
4.1.2 Instruments and materials
The test instruments and materials are as follows:
a) Sample tube: It is made of No. 20 cold-drawn precision seamless steel tube in accordance with GB/T 3639-2021, with a length of 400 mm±5 mm, an outer diameter of 48 mm±2 mm, and a wall thickness of 4.0 mm±0.1 mm. The bottom end of the steel tube is stuck with isolation block with thickness of 1.6 mm±0.2 mm, to maintain a gap of 1.6 mm±0.2 mm between the steel tube and the verification plate.
b) Main explosive column: 50 mm±0. 4mm in diameter, 50 mm±0. 4mm in height and 1.60 g/cm3±0. 05 g/cm3 in density, made of passivated cyclonite (cyclonite: insensitizer=95:5) or pentolite (PETN: TNT-50:50, mass ratio); the surface of the main explosive charge column shall be flat, smooth and free of cracks.
c) Partition [used in test 2 (a)]: plexiglass separator partition with diameter of 50 mm±0.2 mm and thickness of 50 mm±0.2 mm.
d) Verification plate: carbon structure steel made in accordance with GB/T 700-2006, with side length of 150 mm±10 mm and thickness of 3.2 mm±0.2 mm.
e) Detonator: No. 8 industrial electric detonator that complies with the provisions of GB 8031-2015.
f) Initiator: It can stably detonate No. 8 industrial electric detonator.
g) Detonator holder: wooden detonator holder with central hole, 50 m in diameter, 25 mm in height and 8.5 m in diameter of central hole.
