6 Technical requirements
6.1 Thickness
6.1.1 Single point thickness tolerance
6.1.1.1 Cold-rolled plates, sheets and strips
6.1.1.1.1 The length tolerance of cold-rolled plates, sheets and strips is classified into ordinary grade and high-precision grade. When required by the purchaser, the high-precision grade shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation, and indicated in the order (or contract). If the grade is not indicated, it shall be deemed as ordinary grade.
6.1.1.1.2 The ordinary thickness tolerance of cold-rolled plates, sheets and strips shall meet those specified in Table 3; the high-precision thickness tolerance of cold-rolled plates, sheets and strips of Series 2×××, Series 6××× and Series 7××× alloys as well as Series 5××× alloys with the average magnesium limit greater than 3% shall meet those specified in Table 4; the high-precision thickness tolerance of cold-rolled plates, sheets and strips of Series 1×××, Series 3×××, Series 4××× and Series 8××× alloys as well as Series 5××× alloys with the average magnesium limit not greater than 3% shall meet those specified in Table 5.
