Cast iron rolls
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packaging and quality certificate of cast iron rolls.
This document is applicable to cast iron rolls used for metal material processing and composite rolls (including roll rings) with cast iron working layers.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 12604.1 and GB/T 15546 and the following apply.
3.1
outer layer thickness
thickness of the same material of the working layer of a composite roll
3.2
single defect
defect with the spacing between adjacent ones greater than 8 times of the equivalent of major defect at the specified sensitivity
Note: Defect spacing is determined according to the center position of the probe at the peak of defect echo.
3.3
concentrated defect
defect with the spacing between adjacent ones not greater than 8 times of the equivalent of major defect at the specified sensitivity
Note: The indicated area of concentrated defect is determined according to the specified sensitivity.
3.4
backwall echo attenuation zone
zone where the radial backwall echo attenuates to less than 10%f.s due to internal defects of the roll
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 Rolls shall be manufactured in accordance with this document according to the use of the rolls and the order drawing and technical agreement confirmed by the supplier and purchaser.
4.1.2 Technical requirements other than those in this document shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation.
4.2 Chemical composition and surface hardness
4.2.1 The chemical composition and surface hardness of the outer layer shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
4.2.2 The core of centrifugal casting composite roll should be made of high-strength ductile iron or high-strength steel material.
4.2.3 The inner layer of centrifugal casting composite roller ring should be made of graphite steel or high-strength iron material.
4.2.4 The chemical composition of the core is designed by the manufacturer according to the performance requirements.

1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packaging and quality certificate of cast iron rolls.
This document is applicable to cast iron rolls used for metal material processing and composite rolls (including roll rings) with cast iron working layers.

3 Terms and definitions

4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 Rolls shall be manufactured in accordance with this document according to the use of the rolls and the order drawing and technical agreement confirmed by the supplier and purchaser.

4.2 Chemical composition and surface hardness
4.2.1 The chemical composition and surface hardness of the outer layer shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
4.2.2 The core of centrifugal casting composite roll should be made of high-strength ductile iron or high-strength steel material.
4.2.3 The inner layer of centrifugal casting composite roller ring should be made of graphite steel or high-strength iron material.
4.2.4 The chemical composition of the core is designed by the manufacturer according to the performance requirements.
