This document is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB/T 15114-2009 Aluminum alloy die castings. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect GB/T 15114-2009:
a) The "Scope" has been modified (see Clause 1 hereof; Clause 1 of Edition 2009);
b) The terms and definitions of "aluminum alloy die casting", "structural part" and "functional part" have been added (see Clause 3 hereof);
c) The technical requirements have been modified (see Clause 4 hereof; Clause 3 of Edition 2009);
d) The quality assurance has been deleted (see Clause 4 of Edition 2009);
e) The test method has been modified (see Clause 5 hereof; Clause 5 of Edition 2009);
f) Inspection rules have been modified (see Clause 6 hereof; Clause 5 of Edition 2009);
g) The delivery, marking, packaging, transportation and storage have been modified (see Clause 7 hereof; Clause 6 of Edition 2009);
h) The mechanical property requirements for die casting aluminum alloys have been modified (see Annex A hereof, Annex A of Edition 2009);

1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test method and inspection rules as well as delivery, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of aluminum alloy die castings.
This document is applicable to the manufacturing and quality inspection of aluminum alloy die castings.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5611 and the following apply.

aluminum alloy castings produced by die casting using high pressure die casting equipment

structural part
load-bearing parts or stress-bearing parts, aluminum alloy die castings closely related to safety in use (3.1)
Note: General structural parts play the role of bearing load, connecting parts and resisting impact, and have special requirements for tensile strength, yield strength and elongation of materials.

functional part
components with functional characteristics
Note: Compared with structural parts, the difference between aluminum alloy die castings with specific use functions is that their toughness requirements are relatively low.

4.1 Chemical composition
The chemical compositions of aluminum alloy die castings shall meet those specified in Table 1.
