This standard is proposed by and under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Elevators of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 196).   Introduction This standard specifies the basic requirements for the design and manufacture of escalator steps or moving walk pallets, including the connection of step or pallet parts and components and the general requirements for protective surface coatings for steps or pallets that require corrosion protection. Customers and manufacturers are also required to fully communicate and negotiate on the service environment, expected service life and passenger flow of the steps or pallets, and take appropriate measures to meet specific needs. Manufacturers of escalators or moving walks and manufacturers of steps or pallets shall determine appropriate dimensional tolerances based on different manufacturing methods and processes of steps or pallets, as well as the need to meet the safe operation of escalators and moving walks. Escalator steps and moving walk pallets 1 Scope This standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture, marking and packaging of escalator steps and moving walk pallets. This standard is applicable to escalator steps and moving walk pallets.
