3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 4365 and the following apply.
3.1
telecontrol equipment
equipment for monitoring and controlling a geographically dispersed production process
3.2
telecontrol system
system for monitoring and controlling a geographically dispersed production process, which is used to realize the monitoring and controlling operation of the controlled equipment from a remote control center
Note: It consists of three parts: control end, executive end and communication channel.
3.3
harmonic content
percentage of the ratio of the RMS value of each harmonic voltage to the power frequency voltage
3.4
ripple voltage
percentage of the peak-to-peak ratio of the AC component of the DC supply voltage to the measured supply voltage (mean) at the rated load
3.5
equipment under test (EUT)
equipment (devices, appliances and systems) subject to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance tests
Note: EUT in this document refers to telecontrol equipment and telecontrol systems.

4 Power supply
4.1 General
The electrical energy required for the operation of telecontrol equipment and the systems is provided in the following ways:
a) directly connected to the power supply;
b) connected to a power supply device placed between the power supply and the system (or part thereof);
c) to maintain the operation of the system (or part thereof) by an auxiliary or backup power supply in case of maintenance or failure of the main power supply.
4.2 AC power supply
4.2.1 Nominal AC voltage
This document only considers AC power supply that has the same characteristics as public grid power (e.g. 50Hz) and does not include other higher frequencies (e.g. 40Hz).
