1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 17889 specifies the general design features, requirements and test methods for portable ladders.
This Part is applicable to the portable ladders.
This Part does not apply to step stools or ladders for specific professional use such as firebrigade ladders, roof ladders and mobile ladders.
This Part does not apply to ladders used for work on or near live electrical systems or installations. For this purpose, GB/T 17620 applies.
Note 1: This Part is intended to be used in conjunction with GB/T 17889.1.
Note 2: For single or multiple hinge joint ladders, see GB/T 17889.4.
