Nickel Anode Sheets
1 Subject content and applicable scope
This standard specifies the product classification, technological requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging of nickel anode sheets.
This standard is applicable to nickel anode sheets for electroplating in industry sector.
2 Normative references

GB 8888 Wrought heavy non-ferrous metal products—Packing, marking, transporting and storing
3 Product classification
3.1 Designation, temper and specification
The designation, temper and specification of the sheets shall meet those specified in Table 1.

NY1 Hot-rolled (R) 6~20 100~300 400~2,000
NY3 Soft (M) 4~20
NY2 Hot-rolled before quenched (C)
3.2 Overall dimension and allowable deviation
3.2.1 The overall dimension and allowable deviation of the NY1 and NY3 sheets, and the thickness of the NY2 sheets (±10 mm for width deviation, ±35 mm for length deviation) shall meet those specified in Table 2.
Table 2 In: mm

>10~14 ±0.60
>14~20 ±0.80 To be supplied untrimmed To be supplied untrimmed
Note: 1. The width of the sheets is graded according to 50 mm and the length is graded according to 200 mm.
2. Sheets of other specification and allowable deviation may be supplied by mutual agreement between the supplier and the purchaser.
3. The thickness of the NY2 sheets to be supplied shall not be less than 6 mm.
3.2.2 The sheets shall be flat and straight in shape, and the uneven part along the length of the sheets shall not exceed 50 mm per meter.
3.2.3 For NY1 and NY3 sheets with thickness less than or equal to 14 mm, the edges shall be cut straight and free of cracks, while slight burr is allowed; oblique cutting shall not make the width and the length of the sheets exceed the allowable deviation.
For NY2 sheets, the edges and the head shall not be cut for the purpose of supply, and the edges may be allowed to have cracks when the sheets are within the range of the allowable width and length deviation.
3.3 Designation example
For NY2 sheets that has been tempered, 10 mm in thickness, 300 mm in width, and 1,000 mm in length, the designation is as follows:
Sheet NY2 C 10×300×1,000 GB 2057-89
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the nickel anode sheets shall meet the requirements of GB 5235.
4.2 Surface quality
4.2.1 The sheets need no acid cleaning for the purpose of supply. It is not allowed to have bubbles, peeling and inclusions on the surface.
4.2.2 Slight defects, such as bumps, pits and roller marks, that do not make the thickness of the sheets exceed the allowable deviation are allowed on the surface of the sheets.
4.2.5 No cracks are allowed on the surface of NY1 and NY3 sheets, but slight delamination caused by shearing is allowed at the cut.
The surface of NY2 sheets is allowed to have slight cracks that do not make the thickness of the sheets exceed the allowable deviation.
5 Test methods
5.1 The arbitration analysis method for chemical compositions of nickel anode sheets shall be in accordance with YB 128.
5.2 The overall dimension of sheets shall be measured by measuring tool with corresponding precision.
5.3 The surface quality of the sheets shall be visually inspected.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection and acceptance
6.1.1 The sheets shall be subjected to the technical supervision department of the supplier for acceptance and to guarantee that the quality meets the requirements of this standard.
6.1.2 The purchaser shall test the received products according to those specified hereof; if the test result is inconsistent with specifications in this standard, the condition shall be proposed to the supplier within 3 months from the day of receiving the products, and solved by consultation between the supplier and the purchaser.
