This standard replaces GB/T 21361-2008 Motor vehicle air-conditioning unit. The following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 21361-2008 (the previous edition):
- the definition of refrigeration coefficient of performance is added (see 3.10);
- the requirements for radio disturbance characteristics and air quality are added (see 5.2);
- the operational test requirements are modified (see 5.5.2);
- the requirements on airtightness are modified (see 5.5.1);
- the requirements on noise are modified (see 5.5.10);
- the measurement requirements for grounding resistance are deleted (see 5.6.4.3);
- the field test method for refrigerating capacity of motor vehicle air-conditioning unit is added (see Annex D).

Motor vehicle air-conditioning unit
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of motor vehicle air-conditioning unit (hereinafter referred to as air-conditioning unit).
This standard is applicable to motor vehicle air-conditioning unit for refrigeration purpose.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in JB/T 7249 as well as those listed below apply.
3.1
motor vehicle air-conditioning unit
an air conditioning system consisting of compressor, condenser, throttling element, evaporator, fan, and necessary control components, used to regulate the temperature and humidity in the motor vehicle, and providing the passenger with comfortable environment
3.2
indirect drive air-conditioning unit
air-conditioning unit with its compressor driven by independent auxiliary power unit
3.3
direct drive air-conditioning unit
air-conditioning unit with its compressor driven by main power of motor vehicle

air enthalpy difference
a method for determining the capacity of air-conditioning unit, which measures the air supply parameters, the return air parameters and the circulating air volume of the air-conditioning unit. And the refrigerating capacity of the air-conditioning unit shall be determined by the product of the measured air volume and the difference between the enthalpy of air supply and that of return air
3.5
refrigerating capacity
the amount of heat that the air-conditioning unit discharges from the enclosed space, inside of the motor vehicle or area under the specified refrigerating capacity test conditions

3.6
air flow rate
the volumetric flow of air entering the air-conditioning unit per unit time under the specified refrigerating capacity test conditions

compressor drive power
the power consumed by driving the compressor under the specified refrigerating capacity test conditions

accessory electric power

energy efficiency ratio; EER
the ratio of the refrigerating capacity of air-conditioning unit to the compressor drive power under the specified refrigerating capacity test conditions

refrigeration coefficient of performance; REER
the ratio of the refrigerating capacity of air-conditioning unit to the compressor drive power under the specified engine rotation speed
The refrigeration coefficient of performance is calculated with Formula (1):

EER①——the ratio of the refrigerating capacity of air-conditioning unit to the compressor drive power in case of the engine is operated at low rotation speed;

EER③——the ratio of the refrigerating capacity of air-conditioning unit to the compressor drive power in case of the engine is operated at high rotation speed.

4 Types and basic parameters
4.1 Types
4.1.1 It is classified by the driving mode of the refrigeration compressor into:
- indirect drive type;
- direct drive type.
4.1.2 It is classified by the structural style of motor vehicle air-conditioning unit into:
- integral type;
- split type.
4.1.3 It is classified by the arrangement mode of evaporator of motor vehicle air-conditioning unit into:
- top-mounted;
- rear-mounted;
- bottom–mounted;
- built-in type.
4.1.4 It is classified by the air supply mode of motor vehicle air-conditioning unit into:
- direct blowing type;
- air duct type.
4.2 Basic parameters
4.2.1 The basic parameters of the air-conditioning unit include refrigerating capacity, air flow rate, compressor drive power, accessory electric power and noise.
4.2.2 The external static pressure for the air-conditioning unit without on-site air duct shall be 0 Pa, and that for the air-conditioning unit with on-site air duct shall be nominal.

4.1 Types
