The following editorial changes have been made in this document: ——To be consistent with the existing standard series, the standard name is changed to Iron, steel and alloy - Determination of silicon content - Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method; ——Annex A (Normative) “Method for determining the performance criteria of apparatus” is added. This document was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association. This document is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Iron and Steel of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183). Iron, steel and alloy - Determination of silicon content - Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method WARNING——Persons using this document shall be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This document does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to ensure compliance with any national regulatory conditions. 1 Scope This document specifies a method for the determination of silicon contents by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method. This document is applicable to the determination of silicon contents of mass fraction 0.01% to 5% in pig iron, cast iron, non-alloy steel, low-alloy steel and alloy steel. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this standard.
