Test method for measurement of hydrogen embrittlement threshold in steel by the incremental step loading method
1 Scope
This standard specifies the symbols and definitions, principle, test apparatus, specimens, test procedure and test report for measuring the threshold stress and threshold stress intensity of hydrogen embrittlement in steel by incremental step loading method.
This standard is applicable to evaluate quantitatively the hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility of steel, or the effect of residual hydrogen in steel as a result of processing, such as melting, thermal mechanical working, surface treatments, etc., and of hydrogen introduced by external environmental sources on the steel properties.
