Introduction
0.1 The Internet of Things (IoT), a pioneering field to foster a new economic and social development model and reshape long-term competitiveness in a country, has been highly valued by China as a strategic emergent industry to be developed energetically. To promote the application and development in IoT is conducive to the transformation of the manufacturing, life and society management philosophy to intellectualization, refinement and networking, and it is of far-reaching importance to improve the informatization of national economy and social life and promote industrial restructuring and development mode transformation.
0.2 The technical specifications for the Internet of Things of lifts, escalators and moving walks shall be regulated and unified to 1) improve quality of products and service by industrial entities; 2) raise supervision efficiency; 3) enhance transparency of public supervision; and 4) improve users' degree of satisfaction. The significances above are embodied in the aspects below:
a) The quality of products and service is improved continually by acquisition and analysis of fault, running and statistics information of lifts;
b) Maintenance companies and users of lifts timely access the fault information of lifts and ask professional to rescue trapped passengers and remove faults on site.
c) Repair and maintenance units of lifts give supervision and technical supports to on-site repair and maintenance personnel to ensure that they could complete repair and maintenance tasks and emergency recovery in a timely and correct way;
d) It is convenient to build a unified supervision platform to achieve higher supervision efficiency;
e) The availability of unified standards contributes to decrease of overall industrial investment and social cost; based on the unified standards, lift makers will research and develop installation running safety monitoring systems of their own, which are conducive to ensuring reliability, utility and uniformity of such systems; and
f) The unified standards will facilitate the promotion of lift IoT technology at home and raise the standing of the Chinese lift industry in the global market.
