3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 floor drain
device that receives accumulated water on the ground and transmits it to a drainage system
3.2 floor drain with seal
floor drain that only relies on water filling to form a trap seal inside to achieve sealing function
3.3 mechanical seal floor drain
floor drain that only relies on mechanical structure to achieve sealing function
3.4 blend seal floor drain
floor drain sealed by two or more methods
3.5 straight floor drain
floor drain without any structure preventing the gas in the drainage pipeline from spilling back
3.6 manual floor drain
floor drain with sealing cover, which is manually opened when draining and manually closed when no drainage required
3.7 side-drain floor drain
floor drain installed vertically and with the function of laterally receiving and discharging the accumulated water on the ground
3.8 floor drain with filter
floor drain with frame that can intercept sundries and be taken out for cleaning
3.9 spill-proof floor drain
floor drain with the function of preventing the waste water from spilling over the ground during discharge and preventing the waste water in the drainage system from spilling back to the ground
3.10 multi-channel floor drain
floor drain with multiple water inlet channels, which can receive both ground drainage and drainage of multiple appliances
3.11 same-floor drain
embedded floor drain
floor drain installed on this floor and with the discharge pipe not penetrating the floor
3.12 grate of floor drain
cover with grid on the surface, which is used as floor drain inlet
3.13 cover of floor drain
cover without water holes such as grille, which is one of the components of manual floor drain
3.14 trap seal depth
height difference between the highest water level of the trap seal producing sealing effect and that of trap seal when it fails
3.15 mounting size
size of the joint between floor drain and drainage pipe
